Marseille in the 1930s is firmly in the hands of gangster boss Roch Siffredi. But when the Italian mob under Giovanni Volpone tries to dispute his position, a bitter war breaks out. Siffredi's partner is killed in the process, his theater and nightclub razed to the ground, his brothel's patrons stay away, and his allies turn on him.
